A Place to Eat, A Place to Meet... it's also a desk and an art studio.....
The "dinning area" is the bottom of the "L" shape where the living room meets the kitchen. We keep a round 60" table there, but there are two leafs for the table which make it a 120" oblong table which seats 12 of us comfortably.
My PRIDE AND JOY is my built in double hutch. It's such a great and practical use of the space! and .... oh...so... pretty!!!!!! :) It has lovely top cupboards with glass doors and glass shelves (purchased from a local, family owned glass place in Aloha), and the lower cupbards have solid doors and wood shelves. Provides ample storage as well as a wonderful display area for your good china. I chose bead board for the middle/back, and then we carried through with bead board insets on the window boxes. :) I LOVE this hutch. It was custom built for me by one of my clients and I actually tear up at the idea of losing it....but clearly, it stay's with the house. lol In 2011 we added a fan/light combo above the dinning table. Above the window is another bragging shelf and custom Levelor Blinds. |
